Water back on (see story below) around Noon.

BBC Hereford & Worcester report...

Water main burst in Kidderminster

A burst water main has left hundreds of homes in Kidderminster without water.

Areas without water:

  • Spennels
  • Offmore Farm
  • Aggborough
  • Comberton

Schools closed

  • Offmore First school
  • Comberton First school
  • Comberton Middle school
  • Spennels First school

Roads:

  • The water main has burst on Spennels Valley road, at the Junction of the A448 Bromsgrove to Kidderminster road.
  • The Spennels island is impassable due to a water leak
  • Re-directing traffic up A450 has caused gridlock at the Black Bridge.

Kate Cox, from Severn Trent Water, says it may take some time to restores people's water.

"It means in the short term that people are either going to have very poor pressure at their taps or no water at all.

"Until we can re-jig the system, shut off the damaged section of main and get water in to the area via different routes it does mean that water supplies are going to be affected"
